Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, employers are required to take appropriate steps to reduce the risk of injury to employees, this includes suitable training. The Manual Handling Awareness Course combines both the theoretical and hands-on elements of the subject. This teaches techniques on lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects safely, within their individual capabilities.

  • The Manual Handling Awareness training course allows learners to appreciate the consequences of poor manual handling and enable them to use their knowledge to plan and use approved lifting techniques. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require all employers to carry out training for staff who lift or carry loads. Delegates will gain an understanding of regulations as well as a practical knowledge of lifting and moving. They will be able to identify potential hazards and risks and determine the safest method of manual handling without injury.
